I think my project requires plumbing, electrical, or roofing services. Can you help me find a subcontractor or vendor?

While we are not plumbers, electricians, nor roofers – we can provide recommendations for you if your project requires. We have worked with numerous plumbing, electrical, and roofing subcontractors and vendors and have a list of preferred partners that we can share with you. If you have a larger project that includes these task we can even coordinate these subs for you.

How does the appointment process work?

After we receive your initial request, speak with you about your project, and come to a mutual agreement that we are the best fit for your homes needs we will present a work order for your review. Once you accept the work order and pay your deposit then you will be put onto our schedule.

How much does a typical home repair project cost?

The average cost of a home repair or maintenance project varies greatly because it is dependent on the scope of the project. At Merrick Home Services, we bill on a time and materials at $95 per hour.

Are your carpenters employees?

Our core team of carpenters and home services professionals are full time Merrick employees but we also work with many skilled and experienced subcontractors and vendors. We’ll match you with the right skilled trades person for your project.

What are your payment terms?

In order to secure your appointment you will pay a third of the approved work order upfront. For small projects that balance is due upon completion. For project that take longer than 2 weeks, you will be billed bi-weekly for the work completed to date.

Do you guarantee your work?

We offer a two-year warranty on all home repair, maintenance, carpentry, and finishing services provided by the Merrick Home Services team. We stand behind our work and want to make sure that you are satisfied and that your home is working for you. If you run into any issues in the 2 years after your project is completed, call our Home Services team and we will work with you to resolve the issue.

Do you offer references?

One of our main goals is to be the only contractor you’ll ever need – and that means we have lasting relationships with our clients! We are more than happy to share reviews from homeowners just like you and a reference list is available upon request.

Do I need to be home while the work is happening?

Your home is in good hands with our trustworthy team of home repair and maintenance professionals. You can be home for the entire appointment or away from home if necessary. We just ask that you provide the access we need as well as any instructions for locking up and securing your home if you are still away upon completion.

Do you offer financing?

We are pleased to offer financing through a couple of excellent lenders. If you wish to finance your project, we can refer you to our partners at Intercoastal Mortgage and HFS Financial.
